EFL Cup: Lads drawn away to Southampton

Sunderland face an away trip to Southampton in the fourth round of the EFL Cup.

The Black Cats will meet their Premier League counterparts at St Mary's during the week commencing 24 October.

Sunderland secured their place in the last 16 of the competition after an inspired double from Paddy McNair helped the lads come from behind to seal victory at QPR, while Southampton eased past Crystal Palace 2-0 to progress in the competition.

David Moyes' side last played the Saints on the south coast in August 2016, as Jermain Defoe's late penalty was cancelled out by Jay Rodriguez's effort.

A confirmed date and ticketing arrangements will be announced in due course.
