90 years young: Moyes and Bain mark Forster's birthday

Some of the club’s longest-serving supporters enjoyed a very special afternoon at the Stadium of Light this week.

Manager David Moyes and chief executive Martin Bain paid a visit to the Senior Supporters Association’s most recent meeting, introducing themselves and thanking the members for their many years of support.

Whilst at the meeting they also presented the groups oldest member George Forster, chairman of the supporters’ association, with a cake and shirt to mark the occasion of his 90th birthday.

The group has a thriving membership of fans aged over 55, who meet monthly at the Stadium of Light.

Members have the opportunity to discuss club issues and enjoy visits from a variety of guest speakers, including former players and club officials.

Sunderland AFC’s commercial director Gary Hutchinson was their special guest this week, giving a presentation to the group highlighting the club’s off-field activities.

He also took part in a question and answer session with members afterwards. The Senior Supporters Association is always keen to welcome new members.
