U23 match preview: Young guns set for SOL showdown against Man Utd

Sunderland under-23s are in Premier League 2 action this evening against Manchester United.

Kicking off at 7pm at the Stadium of Light, the Black Cats will be looking to issue a response to Monday’s defeat in the West Midlands.

Elliott Dickman’s side fought hard but fell to defeat against Aston Villa at the Banks’s Stadium when the hosts dispatched a second-half penalty.

EYES ON THE OPP

Manchester United head into this evening’s match sixth in the league and with a five-point gap to bridge on Aston Villa if they are to climb the league.

However, the Red Devils have lost their last five league matches, with their last Premier League 2 win coming away at Reading in December 2018 when they saw them off 1-0.

That’s seen Ricky Sbragia’s slip down the league, with their latest defeat coming at home to Norwich City.

TICKETS

Entry is free for SAFC season card holders. Tickets for non-season card holders will cost £3 for adults and £1 for under 16s and over 65s.

Turnstile numbers 7, 8, located in the south west corner of the stadium and 17 and 21 in the north west corner, will be open from 6pm.
