Andrew Nelson completed his first 90-minute run out for Falkirk on Tuesday as Dunfermline Athletic boosted their promotion hopes.
The striker joined the Scottish Championship club yesterday morning on a six-month international loan deal before making his debut just hours later.
Nelson was named on Paul Hartley’s starting XI from the off, along with two other new signings Sean Welsh and former Black Cats defender Tommy Robson.
However, it was a disappointing afternoon for the trio as they slipped to defeat as Nicky Clark and Declan McManus scored in either half to seal victory.
The result leaves Falkirk ninth, six points off Dumbarton but with a game in hand on the eighth-place side.
Next up for Falkirk is promotion hopefuls Dundee United on Saturday 6 January.
Delighted to have signed with @falkirkbairns for the next 6 months, but disappointed with the loss this afternoon, especially in such a big game. hopefully we can put this behind us and take the positives into the next fixture 👍🏻⚽️ #falkirk #bairns pic.twitter.com/JF5vPrPRwc

NELSON ON THE MOVE
“It has been good, there is a good squad of players, they are technically very good. The manager, coaching staff and everyone are very welcoming, so I am glad to be up here.
“Tommy has been looking out for me, but he is still the same lad that he was back at Sunderland.
“He has definitely made it easier to settle in, we have been going out and looking around the local area, seeing what’s on offer and I think Tommy is really enjoying himself here as well.
“I’m quite well known for my work rate. I am quite fiery, I love a good tackle and I will always give 100% all the time.”
