Josh Maja will start for Sunderland under-23s at Leicester City this evening in the Premier League 2, KO 7pm.
The striker has endured a frustrating start to the season, and after returning to action at the end of last month against Arsenal, Maja was forced to withdraw in the warm-up against Everton just days later.
However, five weeks later Maja is back in the line-up for the under-23s’ trip to Holmes Park tonight.
Andrew Nelson also starts after netting a fine leveller against Legia Warsaw last time out, in what is a much-changed team.
Alex Storey, Josh Robson, Chris Allan and Nelson come in for Ethan Robson, Joel Asoro, Elliot Embleton and Tom Beadling.
Jake Hackett has also been named on the bench, alongside fellow youth team player Lee Connelly, after three goals in as many games of late.
