Feeling fine: Taylor on City encounter

Brandon Taylor believes Sunderland under-18s are in a good place as they prepare to travel to league-leaders Manchester City this weekend.

Reeling from a pleasing 3-1 victory over Shrewsbury Town in midweek, the young Black Cats now fix their attentions on resuming their U18 Premier League campaign.

While Elliott Dickman’s team are riding high on the crest of a four game unbeaten run, they head to City this weekend looking to dislodge the title-hopefuls who are yet to lose a league match this term.

However, Taylor has told safc.com his team-mates head to the City Football Academy in a good place having begun the year by progressing to the last 16 of the FA Youth Cup.

“It's always good to get off to a good start and we've done that so we are feeling good going into the second half of the season,” he said.

We couldn't ask for a better draw to be honest against Newcastle. I think all the lads enjoy playing against them and we are looking forward to that night already.

“We are on a good run at the minute and we are in a good place going into Saturday’s game,” he continued.

“With a win on our backs and a number of good performances that has given us a lot of confidence so hopefully we can go down there and get the job done.”
