Oliver Pain has joined Scottish League One club Motherwell on a loan deal until the end of the season.
The 19-year-old Australian stopper will play for Stephen Craigan’s under-20s side after it was confirmed PJ Morrison will require wrist surgery.
Pain has featured a number of times for Sunderland under-18s as well as the development squad this season.
