Sunderland under-23s face the prospect of some mammoth journeys in this season’s Premier League Cup.
Drawn into group H, Elliott Dickman’s development side will face Brighton & Hove Albion, Hull City and either Dagenham & Redbridge or Exeter City.
The Black Cats will play each side home and away, with the top two teams progressing into the last 16 knockout stages of the competition.
Dagenham & Redbridge will face Exeter City on Tuesday 5 September in a play-off match to determine who will advance to the group stages.
Dates for Sunderland’s three games will be confirmed in due course.
