Sunderland under-18s have learned their fate in this season’s Premier League U18 Cup.
Mark Atkinson’s side have been drawn into group D and will face Liverpool, Middlesbrough and West Ham United.
Details regarding fixture dates will be confirmed in due course, with Sunderland are set to face the three teams in their group once, either home or away.
The six group winners and the two best runners-up, decided by total points and then goal difference followed by head-to-head record, will advance to the quarter-finals.
Knockout ties are all one-off matches, decided by extra-time if level after 90 minutes and then penalties if required.
