Reaction: Taylor remains positive

Brandon Taylor has admitted he is more than confident Sunderland under-18s can turn their campaign around.

The young Black Cats have endured a challenging start to the U18 Premier League following six defeats in as many games, with their latest loss coming at home to Manchester City last Saturday.

However, Elliott Dickman’s youth team have refused to be downbeat as they have continued to work tirelessly in their efforts to earn their first points of the campaign.

And speaking to safc.com second-year scholar Taylor has shared is optimism about an upturn in performances.

"We need to grow in our performances because we have been struggling but we are getting stronger as a team and we are working hard on the training pitch to make sure we can start picking up results soon," he said.

"We are gelling together and we are confident as a team that we can begin to pick up points.

"It was tough last weekend against Manchester City but it's important we look forward now and focus on Everton.

"It’s never an easy game but we know if we produce the kind of performance we know we can then we will have a chance," he continued.

"It will be tough but we just need to make sure we work hard and that will hopefully allow us to grow in confidence."
