Match preview: Welsh on Reading

Andy Welsh is hoping to see his side return to winning ways when they host Reading at Eppleton CW on Sunday (KO 12pm).

The under-23s required a late equaliser to seal a point against Derby County on Wednesday, with defender Tom Beadling ensuring late jubilation at the Stadium of Light.

And speaking to safc.com Welsh admitted the objective this weekend is simple.

“We’re going to try and get back to winning ways,” said Welsh. “We’re looking forward to it so we will recover from Wednesday night and be ready for Sunday.

“I thought there were some really positive performances against Derby; Donald Love was excellent and I thought George Brady did very well in the centre of defence.”

He continued: “Ethan Robson passed the ball well and make us do things, so there were some big positives even though we were disappointed with the result.

“Now we move onto Sunday and see if we can get the points in the bag.”
