Capital gains: Robson gunning for Arsenal

Ethan Robson hoping for capital gains when Sunderland under-23s head to Arsenal tomorrow evening.

The development squad travel south having earned back-to-back Premier League 2 draws in recent weeks over Derby County and Reading.

However, Andy Welsh’s side continue to search for their first league victory since George Brady’s decisive header in a 1-0 win at Everton moved the Black Cats top in September.

Since then, the young guns have endured a hazy patch of league form which has seen them go four fixtures without three points, however, speaking to safc.com 18-year-old Robson revealed he is feeling confident the lads can turn their campaign around at Borehamwood.

“We have drawn the last two but we are looking to get back to winning ways,” he said.

“We know it’s going to be a tough test but we are definitely looking to get back to winning ways and it’s about taking our chances.

“We have got a great team spirit and we have done well to come back in our last couple of games so we have never been out of it.”

He continued: “We have got good players who can make the difference in games and that’s what you need, as long as we continue to work hard we will pick up points.

“We are all looking to contribute in front of goal and we have been working on a lot of shooting drills to get shots off and make the ‘keeper work - hopefully we can put that into work on Friday.”
