Following encouraging signs on the road, Elliott Dickman’s side returned to Wearside in their last match but were undone by an inform Blackburn Rovers outfit.

Still chasing their first U18 Premier League win of the season, the youth team will be hoping to lay the foundations down at Liverpool for a turn in fortunes as three of their next four fixtures (after Liverpool) are at home.

Focus: Chris Allan

Having lost their skipper Adam Bale through injury, midfield partner Chris Allan will be looking to take the mantle of trying to make things tick in the centre of the park. Labelled as the under-18s ‘most consistent player’ by Elliott Dickman, Bale’s omission will be huge, but Allan has the physique and power to fill the void left by the captain.
