Sunderland AFC has confirmed a host of new scholarships and professional deals for youth players from the club’s Academy of Light.
Nine players have been taken in as first year scholars, whilst a number of players have signed their first professional contract and one has agreed a contract extension.
The new intake of scholars are; Lee Connelly, Jack Connolly, Jack Diamond, Jake Hackett, Jordan Hickey, Benjamin Mbunga Kimpioka, Fergus McAughtrie, Anthony Patterson and Jacob Young.
Joel Asoro, Elliot Embleton, Oscar Krusnell, Joshua Maja and Michael Woud have all signed three-year professional contracts. Owen Gamble, Alexander Storey, Brandon Taylor, Luke Molyneux, Andrew Nelson and Jean-Yves Poame have signed two-year deals, whilst Denver Hume has signed a one-year professional contract.
Carl Lawson has signed a one-year extension, until 2017.
