Known as ‘The King’, Charlie Hurley was voted Sunderland’s Player of the Century in the club’s 1979 centenary year.
He was later voted Best Ever Player by his first club Millwall in 2007, and he famously scored the only goal in an FA Cup win over Norwich in 1961 at Carrow Road.
He was one of the formidable back five at Roker Park in the late 1960s.
