Signed in 1899, Billy Hogg scored 85 times for Sunderland and was one of the hat-trick heroes in the 9-1 demolition of Newcastle United at St James’ Park in December 1908.
Hogg was part of the Sunderland team in 1902 that were crowned champions of England, and he returned to Roker Park as a coach between 1927 and 1934.
