One of the all-time great servants of Sunderland, Arthur Wright spent around two decades on the playing staff at the club either side of the wartime break.
After making his league debut aged 18, Wright went on to make just shy of 300 appearances for Sunderland while bagging 14 goals during his time on Wearside.
