Among a fabulous collection of items on display at the club from the career of Sunderland’s all-time record goal-scorer Bobby Gurney, is this 1936 Championship medal.
Still in its original box, the medal was awarded to Gurney, who was one of two Sunderland players, along with Raich Carter, to score 31 league goals during the title winning season, including four on the day the championship was secured.
