Online Museum: Roker Rising

Early success saw Sunderland outgrow their home at Newcastle Road and in 1898 they returned to Roker to settle at their new home, Roker Park.

Opened against Liverpool on 10 September 1898, Roker Park played host to title success in 1902 and 1913, FA Cup runs to Wembley and new heroes, with Charlie Buchan leading the way during a 209-goal stint on Wearside between 1911 and 1925.
