On Tuesday (16 February) fans of music megastar Beyoncé will finally get to secure tickets to see their idol live on Wearside.
Sunderland’s Stadium of Light is set to host the multi Grammy Award-winning star on the opening night of the European leg of her Formation World Tour on Tuesday 28 June, 2016.
The venue which is one of only five UK venues to host the global superstar has already seen unprecedented demand, with Beyoncé’s fan club pre-sale selling out within a matter of hours.
SAFC’s commercial director, Gary Hutchinson, said: “The hype surrounding this concert has been immense, Beyoncé has created a real frenzy and we can’t wait to host her here at the Stadium of Light.
“I have seen the initial specs for the show and this will be a massive production, with lots of dancers and special effects. I think it is fair to say that this will be the biggest concert we have ever hosted at the stadium and following the response from fans we see this being a quick sell-out.
“There will be no pre-sale from the club although hospitality is available to buy now, so we urge fans looking to secure their tickets to book as soon as possible to avoid any disappointment.”
The venue has been inundated with requests following the announcement of its hospitality packages being on sale, with all Executive Boxes alongside the Montgomery Suite and Quinn’s Sports Bar already sold out. Limited Gold, Diamond and Platinum packages are still available for fans toguarantee their ticket to this must-see show.
Fans can also buy tickets in person from the Stadium of Light box office from 9am on Tuesday morning - a limited allocation of Gold Circle and General Admission (GA) tickets, affording pitch standing /unreserved Tier 1 seating is available. Reserved seating tickets can only be purchased through approved ticket agents (listed below). Fans are advised that tickets cannot be purchased from SAFC’s telephone hotline or club website.
Fans who wish to queue to ensure they get their tickets can do so from 5pm on Monday 15 February, with special provisions in place to ensure public safety. Queuing will be housed within the Carling and East stands of the stadium, protecting fans from the elements.
Anyone wishing to queue overnight must be aged over 18 years old. Club stewards will be on duty and will ask for ID from anyone they suspect does not meet this age criteria. The club also advises that there will be no smoking and or alcohol consumption permitted in the stadium concourses and surrounding areas.
