Standard tickets for Beyoncé’s Formation World Tour concert at Sunderland’s Stadium of Light have sold out in less than 24 hours after going on sale yesterday (Tuesday 16 February).
The iconic singer will open the European leg of her global tour on Wearside on Tuesday 28 June, 2016 and unprecedented demand has seen over 52,000 tickets sell out across ticket websites and the stadium’s own box office.
Die-hard fans of the superstar queued overnight at the Stadium of Light in order to get their hands on tickets for what has become the most anticipated tour in decades and phonelines and websites experienced phenomenal traffic as music-lovers clamoured to secure their seat.
Sunderland AFC’s commercial director, Gary Hutchinson, said: “The level of excitement around this show is something that we haven’t witnessed in a long time. To sell out in under 24 hours perfectly demonstrates how popular Beyoncé is and what a coup being chosen to host the opening night of the European leg of the world tour is for us here in Sunderland”.
Fans who have missed out on the ticket sale can still ensure that they get to see the show at the Stadium of Light as a very limited number of hospitality packages remain available, which guarantee a prime concert ticket.
Hospitality packages ensure that guests can watch the show from some of the best seats in the house, whilst also enjoying private bar facilities and first-class food options pre and post-concert, avoiding the crowds and queues.
Prices start from just £183.50 per person (+VAT), including a reserved seat ticket.
Call 0871 911 1555 or email for details. Only a very small number of packages remain so patrons are advised to call immediately.
