Royal reception for SAFC.

Graham Robinson, head of international football development at SAFC continued his tour of Ghana this week with an invite from King Osei Tutu II of Asante to meet with his royal representative at Mahyia Palace.

King Osei Tutu II of Asante who unfortunately could not attend the visit due to commitments outside the country did send his support of the partnership between Sunderland AFC and Asante Kotoko.

He reiterated that the partnership between the two clubs has been of great benefit to Asante and that he wishes it to grow, he also wrote of how he prays every game for the Black Cats.

In his absence, the king’s representative, Oheneba Adusei Poku officially welcomed Graham to the palace and gave him a tour of the museum in the palace grounds. He praised the support received from SAFC in recent times especially with youth development.

On behalf of SAFC, Graham signed the royal visitor’s book at the palace, cementing the club’s place in history.

Through its many partnerships, football club relationships and grass-roots activities, SAFC has established itself as one of the most recognized and respected English Premier League clubs across Africa.

After his visit to the palace, it was back to business for Graham as he observed first team training sessions with the Porcupines and held in-depth discussions with the club’s technical team.

Graham’s trip is part of a burgeoning partnership between Sunderland and Asante Kotoko, who were crowned Ghanaian champions last season.
