Senegal ace signs for Sunderland

Kader arrives at the SoL.

Sunderland have completed the signing of defender Kader Mangane.

The 6ft plus centre back has joined on loan from Arabian side Al-Hilal until the end of the season.

Manager Martin O’Neill was happy to get the African, he told safc.com: “Kader is a player who will add to the overall strength of our squad and give us options. He will improve competition for places and we are delighted to welcome him to the club.”

Mangane, who has represented his country, Senegal, 23 times, is 29 years old.

He started his career at US Rail before spells at Neuchatel Xamax, Young Boys and Lens.

In 2012 he moved from Rennes to Al-Hilal. He has made 18 appearances for the Saudis this season before joining Sunderland.
