SAFC hit the pitch in Johannesburg.

SAFC's head of international football development Graham Robinson continued his visit of South Africa with some hard hitting training sessions.

Graham who has been visiting Johannesburg as part of SAFC’s partnership with Bidvest Wits has been putting their academy through their paces this week.

As part of the partnership between the two clubs, SAFC provides the Students with a coach four times a year to assist with their on-going youth development programme.

Graham who has worked with some of SAFC’s brightest talents was keen to see what the Bidvest Wits under-21 team had in their locker.

Graham who had previously tested the club’s under-15 team during the week, held a two hour session with the Students under-21 team.

The session which was based on ball retention, decision making and communication was well received by the Bidboys.

Graham explained: “The aim of the session was to take the boys out of their comfort zone, it was physically and mentally demanding but they were brilliant and really dug deep. Make no mistake these boys have the ability to go far if they really want to.”

Graham also met with, Rafik Fridi, chairman of Wits Junior Football Club, the two discussed how SAFC can help support grass roots football within the area by supporting with training plans, coaching techniques and player development.

The trip is part of SAFC’s continuing activities in Africa, which has seen Graham visit Ghana and another partner club, Asante Kotoko.
