Club visit Ghana Premier League champions.
A delegate from Sunderland AFC has this week travelled the continent to Africa as part of the Black Cats continued partnership with Ghana Premier League champions Asante Kotoko.
Graham Robinson, head of international football development for Sunderland touched down in Accra, Ghana and began his tour of Ghana.
Graham kicked off his tour with an update meeting from Asante Kotoko board members Kabral Blay Amihere and Frank Apageyi on Monday.
The partnership between the two clubs has been a great success to date with SAFC receiving special praise from Asante Kotoko and King Osei II of Asante.
Continuing his trip Graham put the Porcupines newly formed under-17s team through their paces with a special two hour coaching session and throughout the week will continue to provide expertise and support to players and coaches.
Later that day Graham also met with head coach Dramani Mas-Ud Didi along with his technical team and academy coaches to discuss the partnership going forward.
As part of the partnership between the two clubs, Sunderland shares coaching methodologies and materials as well as the transfer of skills through on the ground ‘coach the coaches’ clinics.
Graham also attended Asante Kotoko’s first team training session where he observed the club’s current training regime as Sunderland look to continue to provide their expertise to the Ghana Premier League champions.
