Steven McCarthy

Steven is a new face at the Stadium of Light having moved over from Ireland, like team-mate Peter Burke.

The striker hails from Skibbereen and impressed while playing for his home-town club of the same name.

He was spotted by Sunderland scouts and handed a two-year apprenticeship which began in summer 2012.

Steven often features up front but can also play on the wing if required.
