Oscar joined Sunderland during the January 2014 transfer window until the end of the season.

The Argentinian keeper began his career with Independiente in his homeland, making 64 league appearances between 2005 and 2007.

He even chipped in with a goal - scored from the penalty spot - prior to moving to Spain to link up with Getafe in July 2007.

Oscar played 41 games for Getafe before heading back to South America with Boca Juniors in July 2012.

After a spell with Boca, the keeper opted to return to La Liga with UD Almeria.

Oscar has been capped twice at senior level by Argentina and was a member of the squad for the 2006 World Cup.

He was a regular for his country at youth level and proudly holds an Olympic gold medal as a member of the Argentine squad which triumphed in Beijing in 2008.
