* - On loan at Fiorentina

Modibo ended a seven-year spell at Lazio when he joined Sunderland in July 2013.

The defender – born in France but of Senegalese descent – is a powerful physical presence at the back and stands at 6'4”.

He progressed through the youth ranks at Italian side Pescara before Lazio signed the then 19-year-old for €300,000.

Modibo's strength and physical presence earned the promising defender three appearances in his debut season in Serie A as Lazio finished third and qualified for the UEFA Champions League.

Unfortunately, he he would miss the 2007-08 season after breaking his tibia in Lazio’s first game of the season against Torino.

The following campaign saw the defender score a first Lazio goal as the Rome side came back from three goals down to draw 3-3 with Udinese in Udine.

During the 2008-09 campaign, Modibo extended his stay with Lazio for a further five years as his side won the Coppa Italia for the first time in five seasons.

He played 28 games in all competitions in 2009-10 as Lazio finished 12th in Serie A and went out of the UEFA Europa League in a tough group stage.

Lazio improved during the 2010-11 campaign to finish fifth as the Frenchman made his 50th appearance for the club.

Modibo played more games than any other season in the 2011-12 campaign, playing 36 times and scoring once as Lazio finished fourth in Serie A as well as narrowly losing out to Atletico Madrid in the last 32 of the UEFA Europa League.

The defender made his 88th, and last, appearance for Lazio in the 2012-13 Coppa Italia final 16 as the Rome side won 4-1 on penalties against Siena.

Vladimir Petkovic’s side went on to win the tournament whilst also finishing seventh in Serie A.
