David was Sunderland's first signing of the 2013 summer transfer window.

The winger, who can also play up front, signed a four-year deal on Wearside after joining the club for an undisclosed fee from IFK Goteborg.

He is rated as one of Sweden's brightest talents and is a regular for his country at under-19 level.

David began his career with his hometown club, IFK Mariestad, but was soon on the move and joined Goteborg in 2010.

He made his senior debut for the Allsvenskan club as a 17-year-old and quickly impressed.

David made 28 appearances for Goteborg in all, including 10 during the 2012-13 campaign.

He played alongside former Black Cat Tobias Hysen with Goteborg and won the Swedish Cup just before moving to Sunderland, appearing as a substitute against Djurgardens IF in the final.
