In 2005, Andrea transferred to Treviso, also of Serie A, in a co-ownership deal before making 21 appearances in his sole season with the club.

Udinese signed Andrea, again on a co-ownership deal, in 2006 and he made 66 appearances for the Bianconeri before joining Liverpool on 2008.

In July 2008, Liverpool confirmed the signing of Andrea for an undisclosed fee as the Reds looked to replace John Arne Riise who signed for AS Roma.

He made his Liverpool debut in 1 -0 win over Sunderland at the Stadium of Light in August 2008.

Andrea will be remembered fondly on Merseyside for his strikes against Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League and in a 4–1 victory against Manchester United at Old Trafford.

In total, he made 31 appearances in18 months with Liverpool before joining Napoli in January 2010.

It was with the Naples club that Andrea won his first silverware in the form of the Coppa Italia in 2012.

Andrea played 109 times for Napoli as the Serie A side broke into both the UEFA Europa League and Champions League.

He spent the end of last season on loan at Palermo, where he made 11 league appearances.

The defender has been capped 10 times by the Italian senior side whilst he also has four under-20 caps.
