Belgian goalkeeper Simon Mignolet signed for Sunderland from hometown team Sint-Truiden in June 2010 and went down a storm in his first season on Wearside.
The unassuming 6'4" stopper made 26 appearances in the absence of Craig Gordon and won his first senior caps for his country.
Mignolet is considered one of Belgium's brightest talents and helped his former club to fourth place in the Jupiler Pro League in 2009-10.
The keeper, who won the Belgian Second Division with Sint-Truiden in 2008-09, had attracted interest from across Europe before eventually plumping for a move to Wearside on a five-year contract.
Mignolet was thrust into the starting position at the start of the 2010-11 season and responded superbly, posting six clean sheets in his first 13 games for the club.
His strong form continued throughout the season, resulting in an full international debut against Austria in March 2011.
