Diminutive Belgian Steed Malbranque was a regular starter in 2010-11, making 37 appearances overall.
The Mouscron-born player was employed in every midfield position during the season and passed the 100-appearance mark for the club.
A purveyor of magical footwork and breathtaking pieces of individual skill, Malbranque came to England at the behest of then-Fulham chief Jean Tigana, who paid Lyon £5m to acquire his services in August 2001.
Malbranque went down a storm at Craven Cottage during a five-year spell, clocking up 211 appearances and 44 goals from midfield.
He joined Spurs for around £2m in August 2006 and was a regular during his first two seasons at White Hart Lane.
Malbranque reached the quarter-finals of the UEFA Cup with Spurs and won the 2008 Carling Cup prior to joining Sunderland in July 2008, having made 75 appearances for the North London club.
Despite being born in Belgium, Malbranque represented France Under-21's and was part of the Les Bleus squad which lost to the Czech Republic in the final of the 2002 UEFA U21 European Championships.
A quietly-spoken figure off the pitch, Malbranque often stays in the background, preferring to let his football do the talking.
