Rock legend Bruce Springsteen, joined by his famous E Street band, is the third act set to wow Wearside in 2012.
The show, which will take place on Thursday 21 June, 2012, is one of only three special headline performances in the UK.
Tickets go on sale at 9am on Saturday 3 December, priced from £55 (subject to booking fee) and £60 for the London show.

Music fans can also enjoy one of the UK's biggest bands when Coldplay perform at the home of Sunderland AFC on Thursday 7 June.
Red Hot Chili Peppers complete the treble, as the US superstars will rock the SoL on Sunday 24th June.
