Newcastle International Airport has an ever-increasing number of scheduled flights to domestic and international destinations and services over 3 million passengers each year. It is located just off the A1 motorway. Approximately 30-45 minutes to the Stadium depending on traffic.

Durham Tees Valley Airport is one of the fastest growing airports in the UK with a wide selection of destinations. It is conveniently located only a few miles off the A1, A19 and A66.

Trains
Sunderland has its own regional train station situated in the heart of the City Centre. Direct services are available to Newcastle, MetroCentre, Hexham, Carlisle, Hartlepool and Middlesbrough.

Direct Transpennine Express services run to Darlington, York, Leeds, Manchester and Liverpool. Connections can be made at Newcastle for Scotland and London.

Grand Central operate a daily direct service between Sunderland and London Kings Cross.

Nearest Rail Station:
Seaburn 10-15 minute walk from the Stadium of Light. Leave the station and turn right onto Charlton Road. At traffic lights turn left onto Newcastle Road. At the bottom of Newcastle Road the stadium is visible on the right hand side.

Sunderland City Station 10-15 minute walk from the stadium. From the station exit opposite taxi rank and turn left onto Fawcett Street. At the end of the street continue walking over the Wearmouth Bridge and the stadium is on the left.

Metro:
When travelling to the match by Metro, supporters have the choice of arriving at either St Peter's or the Stadium of Light Metro Station prior to the game.

When leaving the Stadium after the game supporters travelling north - i.e. to Seaburn and beyond - are required to board the Metro at the Stadium of Light station. Supporters travelling south - to Sunderland City Centre and beyond - must board at St Peter's metro station.

By Road:
A1 or A19. The A1 is the major North-South link road that connects Sunderland to most other major cities with ease.

The A19 link road is the arterial road running through the heart of the North East. It feeds directly into the city itself and makes travel to and from Sunderland both simple and convenient.

Ferry:
International Ferry Terminal, North Shields Located only a few minutes from Sunderland, the North Shields Ferry Terminal is the main passenger and freight link to Northern Europe.
