Festive cheer for travelling fans

Season card holders can take advantage of special discount.

Sunderland AFC is continuing with its initiative to make away days cheaper for Black Cats fans.

The club has selected a number of away fixtures where it will subsidise match ticket prices for its travelling season card holders.

The Black Cats face a trip to London, to take on West Ham United, just two weeks before Christmas and SAFC season card holders will be able to take advantage of a special £10 discount on the standard ticket prices for the game.

The game is scheduled for Saturday 14 December, with standard tickets priced at £42 for adults and £24 for supporters under 16 and over 65.

Tickets for SAFC season card holders applying during the priority period however will be discounted to £32 for adults and £14 for under 16s and over 65s.

Sunderland AFC Chief Executive, Margaret Byrne, said: “We want our fans to know that the sacrifices they make in order to follow the team are certainly not taken for granted.  This is just a small gesture by way of a thank you for their continued support on the road.”

Despite significant geographical challenges, Sunderland enjoys a thriving travelling support. In 2012-13 a total of 42,957 Sunderland fans travelled a cumulative average of 9,212 miles across the season to support their team.

Applications for West Ham tickets can be made in person at the Stadium of Light ticket office or online via until 5pm, Tuesday 19 November, 2013.

Any remaining tickets for the game will be available on general sale from 9am, Wednesday 27 November 2013.

All tickets are sold subject to ground regulations.
