Injury Update: Neil on Evans and Batth

Alex Neil has confirmed Corry Evans missed Wednesday night’s clash with Sheffield United due to a hamstring concern.

The club’s medical staff made a late decision to omit the captain from the squad for the defeat at Bramall Lane as a precaution – Evans remains doubtful for Saturday’s trip to Stoke City, but will be assessed.

Danny Batth was also withdrawn late on in the contest having felt tightness in his groin – another player who will be checked over for upcoming fixtures.

“We’ll see where we are come the weekend,” the Head Coach said.

“It is tough, of course. Dan Ballard is out, Dan Neil will be suspended. Danny Batth’s groin tightened up, and we didn’t want to risk Corry with a tight hamstring.

“We’re light on numbers, but as I say, we’ll see where we are with our squad when we travel to Stoke.”
