View from the opposition: Dyche out to win

Sean Dyche will name a strong side when Burnley host Sunderland in the Emirates FA Cup on Tuesday evening (KO 7.45pm).

The Clarets have been in sensational form at Turf Moor this season and they're currently on a four-game winning run – including a 4-1 win over Sunderland – picking up a total of 25 Premier League points at home.

The Burnley boss made changes for the initial tie at the Stadium of Light, and although changes are likely once again he doesn’t feel they will compromise his side’s chances of progression.

“The whole point of us building a squad, a stronger squad, is to use it,” said Dyche.

“I think we’ve got some very good players here; look at the changes we made at Sunderland and we were still productive.”

He continued: “We will be trying to win the game – without a shadow of a doubt – that’s what our focus is and we will still put out a strong side.

“We’ve got a deeper squad and I trust all of them, it’s just that I can only pick 11 at a time and generally, I think it’s fair to say, our league form has been strong.

“I felt the team was strong enough to go and win at Sunderland. It didn’t, but it gave enough to show me it could win that game.”
