Preview

The 2017 Africa Cup of Nations is a special tournament for Didier Ndong, with the Gabon international featuring for the host nation.

The Panthers will be hoping to better their best performance at the tournament – quarter-finals in 1996 and 2012 – with the pressure on in front of their home fans.

Managed by Real Madrid legend Jose Antonio Camacho, Gabon will be led into action by Borussia Dortmund superstar Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who is already the nation’s top scorer.

Ndong, 22, will be hoping to add to his 18 caps and play a key role as the Panthers take on Burkina Faso, Cameroon and Guinea Bissau.

Dafabet rank Gabon as sixth favourites to win the competition, with odds of 8-1 available.
