Red and White Army: Ndong hails unbelievable suppport

Didier Ndong has reserved special praise for the Red and White Army as he continues to adapt to life in the Premier League.

The 22-year-old joined Sunderland from French side Lorient in August 2016 and has since made 27 appearances for the lads in all competitions.

Ndong netted his first goal in English football at the start of February and played a vital role in helping the lads secure an emphatic 4-0 win over Sam Allardyce’s Crystal Palace.

Speaking to safc.com, the Gabon international has lavished praise on the Black Cats’ fans and admitted their spirit and passion is the best he has ever seen.

“I can’t describe it really,” he said.

“The fans here are the best supporters I have ever come across in my career.

“They’re just outstanding home and away, they follow us whatever and believe in us no matter what.

“Sometimes they carry us when we really need them.

“We just need to make sure that we give them back as much as we can, because they really deserve it,” he continued.

“As I say, they are just outstanding.”
