Anything can happen: Januzaj on Man City

Adnan Januzaj has warned Manchester City to expect the unexpected when they travel to Sunderland on Sunday.

The on-loan Manchester United forward has set the Citizens in his sights as the Black Cats look to climb the Premier League table and keep up the pace in the race for survival.

City, who didn’t feature last weekend due to United’s involvement in the EFL Cup final, faced Monaco in their last outing as Pep Guardiola’s men edged out a thrilling eight-goal encounter.

But Januzaj isn’t worried about the threat posed by City, hinting that togetherness and work ethic can pave the way for a memorable afternoon on Wearside.

“Football is football and you never know what can happen,” said the Belgium international.

“We have to keep fighting and we know the fans will help us at the Stadium of Light, so hopefully we can give them something this weekend."

He continued: “It was a disappointing result at Goodison Park because we wanted a win or at least a draw.

“Everton are very strong defensively but if we don’t concede goals it becomes easier to attack, but there wasn’t a lot of space and after the opening goal it was harder for us.

“In the second half we were much better and we were unlucky not to score when Jermain hit the crossbar, but that’s done now and we have to move forward and improve.”
