Seb Coates once again starred for Sporting Lisbon as they secured their first UEFA Champions League win of the season.
After suffering a late defeat to Real Madrid in their opening game, Sporting bounced back at the Estádio José Alvalade to defeat Polish side Legia Warsaw 2-0.
Sporting’s Gelsen Martins crafted the first real chance with his effort clattering the crossbar on 18 minutes, but the home side led ten minutes later when Bryan Ruiz found the net.
Bas Dost grabbed his fifth goal in as many games before the break and it proved to be decisive as Sporting saw out a comfortable win.
The result left the portuguese side one point behind Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund who drew 2-2 in Germany.
