Tottenham Hotspur: Bally's ones to watch

HARRY KANE

The reason why I’m such a big fan of Harry Kane is that he hasn’t had a straightforward development. There was a period where he went out on loan to Leicester City and a few other clubs and what I liked about that is that he was prepared to leave to progress. Chances were limited at Spurs at the time but he didn’t stand still and in my opinion every loan is a successful one providing you learn something whether it is on or off the pitch. He has excellent movement and can finish with both feet and you only have to look at his goalscoring record to see that he’s an excellent centre forward. Spurs also have summer signing Vincent Janssen available but rather than a rival for Kane I think he can be good foil, so both players are ones to watch out for.

MOUSSA SISSOKO

Whether we like it or not Moussa Sissoko is a player we will all look out for on Sunday because of his black and white past. We all know what happened last season at Newcastle United and he was pilloried by the fans at the end of the season, but then went on to have a fantastic Euro 2016 with France which earned him a big-money move to White Hart Lane. He’s a powerful player who loves to get forward and perhaps he will have a point to prove after struggling against Sunderland in the past, but I personally think he will simply concentrate on his own game and it won’t enter his mind. Sissoko is a great example of how Mauricio Pochettino is building a squad which allows key players to miss games but still ensures a consistent level of team performance because of the quality stepping up.

MOUSSA DEMBELE

I remember watching Moussa Dembele two years ago when Tottenham Hotspur came to the Stadium of Light and I thought he was a brilliant player. I loved everything about him and he oozed quality throughout the game – his passing, positional play, threat moving forward and defensive qualities were outstanding and he looked the complete player on the day. He’s been out of the team lately and that will be a challenge for him but if he’s selected he could control the tempo and play a big role in the final outcome.

THE SUPPORTING CAST

Erik Lamela and Christian Eriksen will be the creative forces and Sunderland will have their hands full if they perform. Likewise, Dele Alli is a player that both myself and the club have been aware of for a very long time and we saw last season what he’s capable of on his day. Another person who can score goals and create chances is Son Heung-Min who grabbed a double last weekend at Stoke City – he’s lively and very quick and these players will be key to supporting Harry Kane if he indeed starts as the lone striker.
