International round-up: Lads set for duty

Jordan Pickford – England

A late call-up by Gareth Southgate, Jordan Pickford has been named in the 23-man squad following the omission of Fraser Forster.

Pickford will be hoping to stake his claim and be a part of England’s hotly awaited 2018 World Cup qualifier against Scotland on Friday 11 November.

The Three Lions will then face Spain in a friendly next Tuesday.

Lynden Gooch – USA

Fresh from his USA debut last month, Lynden Gooch has been recalled by Jurgen Klinsmann ahead of American’s next round of 2018 World Cup qualifiers.

Having topped group C, USA have now progressed to the final round standings and will firstly host Mexico on Friday 11 November before travelling to Costa Rica four days later.

Wahbi Khazri – Tunisia

Wahbi Khazri links up with the Tunisia national team as they look to maintain their 100% start to their 2018 World Cup qualification campaign.

Having defeated Guinea 2-0 last month, Tunisia now turn their attentions to Libya on Friday 11 November.

Following that qualifier, Khazri and co will face Mauritania in a friendly four days later.

Lamine Kone – Ivory Coast

Lamine Kone has been included in Michel Dussuyer’s squad ahead of their 2018 World Cup qualifier against Morocco.

Dussuyer’s side recorded a pleasing 3-1 victory over Mali in their opening qualifier last month and will be keen to continue their winning start when they travel to Morocco on Saturday 12 November.

Three days later, Ivory Coast will then take on France in a friendly.

Paddy McNair – Northern Ireland

Paddy McNair has been named in Michael O’Neill’s 23-man squad for their crunch 2018 World Cup qualifier against Azerbaijan on Friday 11 November.

Currently third in group C, O’Neill’s side trail Azerbaijan by three points after as many games and will know victory will be key if they are to maintain hopes of qualification to Russia.

McNair and co will then face Croatia in a friendly on Tuesday 15 November.

Didier Ndong – Gabon

Didier Ndong has been included in Jorge Costa’s Gabon squad ahead of Saturday’s 2018 World Cup qualifier against Mali.

After opening their qualification campaign with a draw against Morocco last month, Ndong will be hoping to help seal their first win when they travel to Mali at the weekend.
