Checkatrade Trophy: Black Cats drawn against Wolves

Sunderland face a trip to Wolverhampton Wanderers in round two of the Checkatrade Trophy.

The Black Cats will travel to the West Midlands on the week commencing December 5, 2016.

Sunderland progressed through the group stages last night after coming from behind to defeat Notts County at the Stadium of Light.

While Adam Campbell’s goal on 49 minutes looked to have been enough to send the Magpies through, two goals in the final 10 minutes from Josh Maja and an own goal from Haydn Hollis sealed Sunderland’s pathway to the next round.

Robbie Stockdale’s side remain unbeaten in the competition inside 90 minutes after securing two wins and a draw in group F.

Meanwhile, Wolves advanced to the knockout stages after they cruised past League Two outfit Accrington Stanley earlier this week.

Ticket information will be announced in due course.
