Sunderland sign Emmanuel Eboue

Former Gunner signs deal until the end of the season.

Sunderland AFC have completed the signing of defender Emmanuel Eboue on a short-term deal.

The former Ivory Coast full-back will remain with the Black Cats until the end of the 2015-16 Barclays Premier League season, having impressed following his arrival on Wearside a number of weeks ago.

After starting his career in his homeland, Eboue moved to Belgium with Breven before moving to England and signing for Arsenal in 2004. 

Eboue was part of the Gunners’ side which made it to the UEFA Champions League Final in 2006, spending eight seasons in North London before joining Turkish giants Galatasaray.

During his time at the Türk Telekom Arena he won three Super Lig titles and five domestic trophies, gaining further experience in the UEFA Champions League during his four years in Istanbul.
