Sunderland AFC defender Patrick van Aanholt has put pen to paper on a new long-term deal at the Stadium of Light.
The 25-year-old Netherlands international has signed a new four-year contract, which will keep him on Wearside until 2020.
The pacey left-back, who joined Sunderland from Chelsea in 2014, has scored five goals in 69 appearances, including four in the Premier League last season.
Speaking about the Dutchman’s new deal, manager Sam Allardyce said: “Patrick was an outstanding performer last season, contributing not only solid defensive performances, but also assists and vital goals.
“It is fantastic to be able to secure the long-term services of such a talented footballer and athlete, who will hopefully continue to improve here for many years to come.”
