Manager of the month: Moyes nominated for award

David Moyes has been nominated for the Barclays Manager of the Month award for November.

The Sunderland boss guided his side to back-to-back wins in the top-flight as AFC Bournemouth and Hull City were beaten by the Black Cats, with a spirited showing at Anfield, albeit one that ended in a late defeat, wrapping up a positive month on Wearside.

Only two managers have won more Barclays Manager of the Month awards than Moyes – Sir Alex Ferguson (27) and Arsene Wenger (15) – with the Scotsman collecting the accolade on ten occasions.

Jordan Pickford’s recent form has also been recognised with the stopper nominated for the EA Sports Player of the Month award.

The Washington-born goalkeeper has been in scintillating form for the Black Cats since breaking into the first team, and in November he helped the Lads clinch two wins a first Premier League clean sheet of the campaign.

Pickford was also called into the England squad for the second time.
