United as one: Januzaj talks team spirit ahead of Watford

Adnan Januzaj has called for his team-mates to show unity and spirit when Sunderland take on Watford this weekend.

A difficult start to the season saw the Lads without a win in their opening ten games, but their fortunes transformed last month following three wins in four Premier League games.

With back-to-back home victories – over Hull City and champions Leicester City – Januzaj is keen to rekindle the winning feeling once again after suffering defeats to Swansea City and Chelsea in the last week.

The on loan winger though is keen to stop the rot and has called for the help of his team-mates to produce a gutsy display against the Hornets in the hope it can inspire some festive fortune.

“We all did a good job and we tried to come back into the game against going behind in the first half which was very difficult but their keeper make two great saves,” he said.

“It was a hard game for us but if we can take that spirit into Watford then there is no reason why we can’t win.

“Of course we all know we have to win games so we can get the most points we can over this Christmas period.”

He continued: “If we do that then there is no reason why we can’t win.

“I feel good because I haven’t played for so long due to my injury. It felt great to be back out there and hopefully with a few more games under my belt I will get fitter and stronger – I felt really good.

“We are going to give everything to win the game and I think in the last few weeks we have shown that the team are giving everything for everyone - the manager, the fans and the players – we need to work as a team, we all stand together and we need to make it work.”
