Team news: Man City v Sunderland

David Moyes has named his first Premier League starting XI ahead of Sunderland’s game with Manchester City.

The Black Cats boss has handed a start to new signing Donald Love and Lynden Gooch will also make his Premier League debut for Sunderland.

Jermain Defoe returns from injury to spearhead the attack, just in front of Fabio Borini and Duncan Watmore.

John O’Shea sits just in front of Lamine Kone and Younes Kaboul, with former Man City man Jack Rodwell in midfield.

New boys Papy Djilobodji, Paddy McNair and Adnan Januzaj are all named on the bench at the Etihad Stadium, with Joel Asoro also a named substitute after an impressive pre-season.
