Moyes: Coaching duo to stay

Paul Bracewell and Robbie Stockdale will remain with the club, David Moyes has confirmed.

Bracewell, assistant manager, and Stockdale, first-team coach, were part of Sam Allardyce’s backroom team but they’ve continued their roles under Moyes, working closely with the new manager during the club’s pre-season tour of France.

And speaking at his first press conference as Sunderland boss, Moyes explained that both will continue to work closely with the team.

“My plan is to keep both Paul Bracewell and Robbie Stockdale,” said Moyes. “I will make changes in some areas but ideally I’m going to try and go along.

“These people helped the team stay up last year so I’ll work with them.”

He continued: “I don’t want to disrupt anything because this club has had too many disruptions in the past.

“Let’s see if we can get a wee bit of continuity, and if we can get that level of stability that allows us to progress because that will be the most important thing.”
